On Thursday, March 4, 2021, six of the Hazelden neighbourhood delegates to the Civic Works Committee (the CWC) met for the first time as a group.

Anne-Marie Grantham, Paul Hubert, Frank Lucente, John New, Lisa New and Susan Skelton met via Zoom to discuss the arguments that will be presented to the CWC. It was decided that to make the best impression, each delegate should take on an argument and present it fully, rather than each delegate trying to argue the same points over and over.

While this seems to be an obvious way to go, when the Committees Clerk for the City of London, Audrey Pascual, was contacted with the request to group our delegation together in a specific order, she replied that, " check with the City Clerk to see if this is allowable under our procedures."

As it turns out, at the next CWC meeting on March 2nd, 2021, the chair of the committee, Elizabeth Peloza, confirmed that, "the clerk would attempt to group delegations from residents from the same area to help make the delegates as coherent as possible," to accommodate what is expected to be a longer meeting.

The next meeting of the Hazelden Delegation will be on Monday, March 8, 2021.
